Yesterday we came to the end of the annual All Nations Islamics course with just over 30 participants. I always much enjoy chatting with the people on the course and hearing what they are doing in a wide variety of different Muslim communities both in Britain and other countries around the world. In this way each year I learn a lot and get more up-to-date with the different contexts.
The course is not for absolute beginners, but assumes a certain basic knowledge of Islam. It draws a variety of excellent speakers to teach different aspects of Islam and Christian outreach in a Muslim context. My contribution is three 90-minute evening sessions on Christian Perspectives on Islam, Story Telling and the Suffering God. Then I am also asked to be part of a Panel to discuss questions from the floor and on the final morning to be the speaker at the closing Communion Service. Having finished this course my speaking programme for this year is complete.
I would warmly recommend this course to anyone for whom it might be relevant.
